Why this site exists — and how it works.
Hundreds of free gin tastings happen every week at bottle shops and distilleries across Australia. The problem is that they're advertised almost exclusively on individual Facebook pages — which means you only find out about them if you happen to follow the right page, or stumble across a post at the right time.
The tastings exist. The gin is free. The people running them want you to show up. But discoverability is basically zero.
FreeGinTastings.com.au is a simple aggregator: one place where every free gin tasting in Australia is listed, organised by state and suburb, so you can actually find them.
We're starting in Western Australia — the state with one of Australia's most exciting craft gin scenes — and expanding nationally as the site grows.
This site is run by Carl Kirk, a gin enthusiast based in Perth, WA. It's an independent project, not affiliated with any distillery, bottle shop, or brand. Listings are free for everyone — distilleries, bottle shops, and bars alike.
Listing your events is completely free. We want every tasting in Australia on this site. If you run regular tastings, submit them here and we'll have them published within 48 hours.

Yes. We only list events where the tasting itself is free of charge. Some venues may have separate paid experiences alongside free tastings — we'll note where that's the case.
We verify listings before publishing and review them regularly. That said, schedules can change — always check the venue's website or event page (linked on each listing) before making a special trip.
Submit it here — takes about two minutes. You don't need to be the venue; anyone can suggest a listing.
Not yet. Gin is the focus for now. We plan to expand into whisky, wine, and other spirits in the future under the freetastings.com.au brand.
