Why we built this, and how it works.
Hundreds of free gin tastings happen every week across Australia — at Dan Murphy's, BWS, independent bottle shops, and distillery cellar doors. The problem is they're advertised only on individual Facebook pages, meaning you only find out about them by chance.
FreeGinTastings.com.au is a single place to find all of them. We aggregate listings from bottle shops, distilleries, and brand reps, organised by location and date, so gin lovers can actually plan ahead.
We're based in Perth, Western Australia. We started with WA because it has one of Australia's strongest craft gin scenes — 27+ active distilleries and a passionate community of gin drinkers. More states are coming soon.
Submitting a listing is always free for distilleries, bottle shops, and brand reps. We exist to grow the audience for Australian gin — that only works if the information is complete and accessible.
Yes — we only list events where the tasting itself is free of charge. Some distilleries offer optional paid experiences (like masterclasses), but the standard tasting is always free. Gin festivals are an exception — we list these because they're valuable events, but they are ticketed.
Use the Submit an Event form. We review all submissions and publish within 24 hours. It's free, and there's no account required.
Yes, absolutely — this is exactly the kind of listing we want. Include the store name, suburb, date, time, and which gin you're pouring. We'll get it up quickly.
We verify distillery listings when they're added and update them when we're notified of changes. For date-specific events, listings automatically display as past once the date has passed. If you spot an error, please email us.
Victoria and New South Wales are next. We're building the database now and will launch those sections once we have enough listings to be genuinely useful. If you're in VIC or NSW and want to help seed the data, email us.
